ADVANCED INDEPENDENT STUDIES
In order to make it easier for working scenic artists to take advantage
of the Cobalt Studios facilities and knowledge, we have developed a format
for which we hope works for you. This is how it works:
- Advanced Independent Studies can take place ALMOST any time during
the school year, which runs from September to May. (Call us or
check our website for schedules.)
- This is primarily a self-directed program. You design a course of
study for yourself. Cobalt Studios supplies the facility, housing,
and materials. Rachel Keebler will be on hand to give you
feedback and advice.
- Program requirements are simple. Call us to reserve your spot,
then send us your current resume and a detailed description of what
you plan to study.
¨¨¨ Something to note:
Many of the subjects that have been requested in Advanced Studies are
covered by Seminars given throughout the school year. These are
in-depth seminars which thoroughly cover their subject through lectures,
demonstrations and student projects. You would do well to consider
the topics covered in these seminars, and compare them to your needs. If
the seminars do not meet them, Advanced Independent Studies might be
right for you.
Check our website for our up-to-date schedule of events. This will help you more
easily plan your stay.
There is a minimum three-day stay, with a maximum term up to two weeks.
The fee is an all- inclusive $150 per day.
