TRAVEL NOTES
As far as travel plans are concerned, arriving for your seminar on Sunday sometime is preferred. You can stay over night the final Friday if you want to, no problem.

As far as Airport Choices, each has their own quirks….LaGuardia, NY… less expensive… lots of choices… at least 3 hrs away
To get here,
Best to take the bus to Port Authority, then take bus to Monticello,
(we will pick you up in Monticello if you call ahead)
Or
Rent a car, either return it here or keep it for your stay.
It is pretty quirky to drive here from there. Newark, NJ … less expensive… lots of choices… at least 3 hrs away

Notes –
LaGuardia and Newark airports are about ½ hour from the Port Authority Bus station.  http://www.nyairportservice.com/
The Bus from Port Authority to Monticello takes just under 2 hours.
The bus station in Monticello is 6 miles from Cobalt. Taxis are really expensive.
SOME PEOPLE HAVE FOUND THAT Enterprise Car rentals are great.
For weekend pick-ups, it is best to call my Cell Phone 845-701-1632. if you get no response in a few minutes, you could also call the Cobalt House, 845-583-4281, as there may be someone there who can pick you up.

BY CAR

From the SOUTH - Take the NY Thruway (Interstate 87) North to Harriman/Rt 17 exit. Take Rt 17 West to exit #104 (Rt 17B/Monticello Raceway). Go West for 6.4 miles. Just past the CITGO station on the right is ROYCE ROAD. (Watch for it - it's a small road!) Turn right and drive a little over a mile to the big white house on the corner.

From the EAST - Thru Danbury, CT take Rt 84 West across the Hudson River to Newburgh and exit at Rt 17K. Go West (right turn) to Rt 17 (approx. 20 minutes). Take 17 West to exit #104 (Rt 17B/Monticello Raceway). Go West for 6.4 miles. Just past the CITGO station on the right is ROYCE ROAD. (Watch for it - it's a small road!) Turn right and drive a little over a mile to the big white house on the corner. That's us!

From the SOUTHWEST & WEST - Take Rt 84 East to Port Jervis, exit at Rt 6 & 23 (Port Jervis/Sussex). Turn right then left on to Rt 6. Go through town (road will join Rt 97N), then turn right ( North) on Rt 42 into Monticello. About one mile past the high school, at the blinking light, turn left on to West Broadway. Drive up over the hill to Rt 17B at the racetrack. Turn left. Go West for 6.4 miles. Just past the CITGO station on the right is ROYCE ROAD. (Watch for it - it's a small road!) Turn right and drive a little over a mile to the big white house on the corner. That's us!

From the NORTHWEST - Through Binghamton take Rt 17 East. Take the Liberty exit 101 bearing right off exit. After approx. 1 1/2 mi there is a T/blinking light, which is Rt 55. Turn left and follow this road approx. 8 mi until it intersects at a traffic light with 17B. Turn left. Go down the hill and up the hill past the Pine Motel. ROYCE ROAD is on the left. (Watch for it - it's a small road!) Go up Royce Rd. for approx. 1 mile to the big white house on the corner. That's us!

From the NORTH - Come South down the NY Thruway (Interstate 87) to the Newburgh exit. After toll stay left. At the traffic light make a right on to 17K. Follow 17K west for about 25 minutes to Rt 17. Take Rt 17 West to exit #104 (Rt 17B/Monticello Raceway). Go West for 6.4 miles. Just past the CITGO station on the right is ROYCE ROAD. (Watch for it - it's a small road!) Turn right and drive a little over a mile to the big white house on the corner. That's us!

BY PLANE

Fly in to either Stewart, Newark or LaGuardia Airport.

From Newark- take a bus to Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC. (New Jersey Transit is good -$7.00) From there take a bus to Monticello. (see below) or http://www.nyairportservice.com

From LaGuardia- take a bus to Grand Central station. http://www.nyairportservice.com Then either walk, take a taxi or take a cross-town bus WEST 5 long blocks to Port Authority (at 8th Ave.). From there take a bus to Monticello (see below).

If you fly into Stewart Airport in Newburgh there is no public transportation. Either rent a car one way or call us in advance with your flight plan and we will arrange to pick you up. Stewart Airport is one hour away from Cobalt.

BY BUS

Only Coach USA/Shortline buses serve our area. They come from as far away as Buffalo, Olean, Utica, Rhinebeck, Long Island, and New York City.

Your DESTINATION will be either Monticello (when coming from the City) or Liberty (when coming from the west) Call us before you board at (845) 583-7025 and you will be picked up.

GETTING THE COACH/USA BUS TO MONTICELLO, NY

You get yourself to the Port Authority Bus Terminal
go into the north building (corner of 42nd and 8th Ave)
go to the 2nd floor
find the lone ticket windows ... they will say "Coach USA - Shortline"  
Get ticket for the bus to Monticello, NY. (ask for the gate number)
turn around and go up the escalators to the third floor where the bus gates are, turn to the left and the location is in the far left-hand (Southwest) corner
Give me a call on my Cell 845-701-1632 to tell me when your bus will get there, and someone will be there to pick you up. *note- the bus drivers don't really like extensive cell phone use on the bus, so try to call before you get on.
If, for some reason you have to leave me a message AND DO NOT HEAR BACK FROM ME, you can call the Cobalt house, 845-583-4281 probably some one will be there and could go pick you up.
It is just 15 minutes away, Taxis are very expensive...

BY TRAIN

Metro-North commuter Railroad operates the "Port Jervis" line that reaches our area. It leaves out of the Hoboken NJ Train Terminal, which is easily reachable via the Path trains from NYC or from Newark Airport.

Your DESTINATION will be Middletown. The trains run most frequently in the late afternoon and early evening.

Call us in advance and you will be picked up. The Middletown train station is a good half an hour from us. Amtrak comes only as close as Poughkeepsie. Buses run from there to Monticello (see above).
