Jenny Knott

Jenny is a USA829 freelance scenic artist with extensive painting and global teaching experience.  Jenny began her journey into the theatre in Kansas City, Missouri.  She started as a technical intern with Missouri Repertory Theatre (now Kansas City Rep) and ended up graduating with her MFA in Design and Technology from UMKC.  Jenny has freelanced as a Scenic Artist for over 30 years, working for regional theatres that include Arena Stage, The Guthrie, and Goodspeed Opera House.  She also worked for union and non-union paint shops like Scaena Studios/National Scenery in Washington DC and VEE Corporation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Jenny made a few forays into the world of theme park exhibits, film and television.  She was an artist in residence at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and the Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC.  Jenny was an adjunct instructor at Western Connecticut State University and at SUNY Purchase College as well as having taught over 250 master classes, workshops, seminars, and lectures across the globe as Rosco Laboratories Paint Product Manager for 18 years.  Jenny has presented on many panels and workshops for USITT as well for the Canadian version, CITT.  She continues to encourage and share her knowledge with the next generation of theatre professionals where ever they may be.
